Creation of a savings bank in Cuxhaven
The Stadtsparkasse Cuxhaven was founded in 1831 as the Ritzebütteler Sparcasse . Ritzebüttel , today a district of Cuxhaven, was at that time as the Amt Ritzebüttel an administrative district of Hamburg , to which today's Cuxhaven and the surrounding communities belonged. In 1938 the company changed to Stadtsparkasse zu Cuxhaven , and in 1963 it changed to the current name Stadtsparkasse Cuxhaven . In 1979, after years of disputes with the Kreissparkasse des Landes Hadeln, it took over the branches and employees of the new municipalities to which it was entitled through a regional reform and offers its services in 5 branches.
The main offices of the Sparkasse are changing
At the opening of the Stadtsparkasse Cuxhaven, there was only one central point, in which the transactions, which at that time were still carried out in cash, were processed. In 1919 the establishment of a branch network was started. While the early main office buildings of the Sparkasse were still rented, a separate main office was built for the first time in 1930 in the area of today's main office, which was supposed to take into account the then increased demands on the financial services business. In 1977 the main office was expanded with a large extension and extension work. The last new building was completed in 1997 after the building was demolished in 1930 and integrated the building from 1977 into a uniform, modern and functional building concept.
