The Stadtsparkasse Cuxhaven was founded in 1831 as the Ritzebütteler Sparcasse . Ritzebüttel , today a district of Cuxhaven, was at that time as the Amt Ritzebüttel an administrative district of Hamburg , to which today's Cuxhaven and the surrounding communities belonged.
