Staffordshire Moorlands is a district in the county of Staffordshire in England . The administrative seat is the city of Leek . Other important places are Biddulph and Cheadle . Sights include the Alton Towers theme park and the Biddulph Grange landscape garden .
The district named after an extensive heather (English moorland ) was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the urban districts Biddulph and Leek and the rural districts Cheadle and Leek.
