The standard 18/36 was a medium-sized car, which the Standard Motor Company in Coventry from 1927 built up 1930th
The 18/36 was the largest of the early models with overhead steering (ohv) engines and the only six-cylinder model. It was added to the four-cylinder 14 hp model in 1927. The unit of the medium-sized car had a displacement of 2230 cm³ (bore × stroke = 68 mm × 102 mm). According to the type designation, the machine probably produced approx. 36 bhp (26.5 kW).
In 1931 the model was no longer offered. This ended the era of ohv motors at Standard again. It was not until 1948 that the side-controlled motors were finally given up.
