Stanislas Barthélémy , called Stanislas (born 1961 in Rennes ), is a French comic book author . He is co-founder of the L'Association publishing house . Due to his unmistakable drawing style, which is influenced by the Ligne claire , he is often booked for advertising contracts.

biography

During his architecture studies he published works in two comic fanzines : Électrode (1982) and Recto-Verso (1983) as part of the AjBD under the direction of Christian Lary (workshop manager of the Bandes dessinées workshops of the Paris ADAC ).

In 1983 he met Jean-Christophe Menu from Versaille, the head of the fanzine Le Lynx à tifs and the “Association pour l'apologie du neuvième art libre” (AANAL). This encounter led to Barthélémy's participation from the third edition and the publication of a small album as part of the "Patte de Mouche" collection (1985). In 1986 Stanislas published his first bookstore album in Collection X , and a second followed in 1988. At the same time, he was working on several youth magazines such as Tintin Reporter and J'aime lire .

In 1990 Stanislas co-founded the comic book publisher L'Association together with Menu, Lewis Trondheim , David B. , Matt Konture, Patrice Killoffer and Mokeït, where he regularly contributes to Lapin magazine and publishes several albums as part of it, including Le Galérien a year 1994.

He also creates five "Pattes de mouche" and draws to a text by Anne Baraou Au passage du Pourquoi pas , (2001).

In 1995 the publisher PMJ Editions published an anthology on Stanislas' character Toutinox , about which stories have been published since the early 1980s.

Also in the 1990s he and the copywriter Laurent Rullier created an adventure comic series for the mass market called "Victor Levallois". Three albums from it are released between 1990 and 1994 by the publishing house "Alpen Publishers". Then Barthélémy began a gang dessinée biography of Hergé, the Belgian creator of Tintin. The texts were written by José-louis Bocquet and Jean-Luc Fromental, the work was published in 1999 by the publishing house "Reporter". Two years later, in 2001, “Reporter” re-released its strips by Savant fou , which previously u. a. had appeared in Je bouquine . There was a further re-publication in 2004: Les Humanoïdes associés brought out the three volumes by Victor Levallois and a first edition of a fourth.

In 2005 the Association published an extensive collection of his youth works together with a long interview as part of its own "Archives" series. Stanislas leaves the organization in 2006 in a dispute with Jean-Christophe Menu , but this does not detract from his work: In 2007 Delcourt brought out Le Grand Animateur , the eleventh volume in the Donjon Monsters series , the lyrics are by Lewis Trondheim and Joann Sfar .

Between 2011 and 2013 Dargaud edited two volumes of his new series Le Perroquet des Batignolles , for which he wrote the texts together with Jacques Tardi and Michel Boujut.
