Stanislav Gorb

Stanislav Gorb ( Ukrainian Станіслав Миколайович Горб / Stanislaw Mykolaiowytsch Horb * 19th June 1965 in Oleksijiwka , Ukrainian SSR ) is an in Germany active, Ukrainian biologist , zoologist and university teachers .

Scientific career

Stanislav Gorb completed in 1989 his studies of biology at the University in Kiev with the Master from. In 1991 he received his PhD in Entomology at the Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences in Kiev. From 1994 to 1998 he was a post-doctoral student at the Institute for Zoology at the University of Vienna and at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen . After that he was a research assistant at the Institute for Special Zoology and Evolutionary Biology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena until 1999 . Between 1999 and 2002 he worked as a group leader ("Biological Microtribology " group) at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen. In 2002 Stanislav Gorb completed his habilitation in entomology. Between 2002 and 2008 he was group leader of the "Evolutionary Biomaterials" group at what was then the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart . In 2006 he became a member of the “ Future Oceancluster of excellence . In 2008 he became professor of zoology at the Zoological Institute of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .
