The pile was a medieval inland port on a leash near Hanover . It was to the west of today's Königsworther Platz , about at the level of Fischerstrasse .

history

The pile gained a certain importance after the confirmation of the pile right in the Great Privilege of 1371 during the leash shipping to Bremen operated with interruptions up to the beginning of the 16th century .

When shipping on linen was resumed in the middle of the 18th century, the port was moved to the Ihme in the area of Blumenauer Strasse . On the city ​​map of Hanover from 1873 there is “Der Stappel” as a field name in the area of Fischerstrasse .
