Stara Huta ( Ukrainian Стара Гута ; Russian Старая Гута Staraja Guta ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 440 inhabitants (2001).

The village, first mentioned in writing at the end of the 17th century, is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in the northeast of Seredyna-Buda Rajon , which also includes the villages of Hawrylowa Sloboda ( Гаврилова Слобода , ) with around 80 inhabitants, Nowa Huta ( Нова Гута , ) with about 100 inhabitants and Vasylivka ( Василівка , ) with about 30 inhabitants.

The village is located 3 kilometers from the Russian border at an altitude of 156  m on the bank of the Ulychka (Ukrainian Уличка ), a 37 km long right tributary of the Snobiwka (Ukrainian Знобівка , Desna river system ), 22 km northwest of the Seredyna-Buda district center and 205 km north of Sumy Oblast Center . Territorial road T-19-24 runs through the village .

To the north of Stara Huta, towards the Russian border, is the 16,214.36 hectare Desnjansko-Starohutskyj National Nature Park ( Деснянсько-Старогутський національний природний парк ).
