Stateline is a census-designated place in Douglas County , Nevada . It is on the California border and on the south shore of Lake Tahoe . US Highway 50 and Nevada State Route 207 run through Stateline .
Since gambling is allowed in Nevada , the place consists of several large hotels with casinos . The tourists from the immediately neighboring South Lake Tahoe in California use the opportunity to gamble here.
The place impresses with its alpine surroundings. A cable car takes you to the Heavenly Valley ski area, 2540 meters above sea level.

- In 1963, Frank Sinatra, Jr. Abducted at gunpoint from his room at Harrah’s in Stateline.
- On August 27, 1980, an attempt to defuse a hidden explosive device resulted in a bomb explosion at Harvey's Resort Hotel .
- In 1998 Sonny Bono (the male part of the singing duo Sonny and Cher ) had a fatal accident in a skiing accident in the Heavenly Valley Ski Resort area.
