Stavenisse is a village in the Dutch municipality of Tholen in the province of Zeeland . On January 1, 2017, it had 1,720 inhabitants.

Stavenisse was one of the hardest hit communities in the 1953 flood disaster . Until 1971 Stavenisse was an independent municipality on the island of Tholen .
