Stay Solid Rocky (* in San Antonio , Texas ; real name Darak Figueroa ), usually spelled StaySolidRocky or StaySolid Rocky , is an American rapper from Richmond . He became internationally known in 2020 with his hit song Party Girl .

biography

Darak Figueroa was born and raised in San Antonio . As a teenager he came to Richmond via San Angelo and South Carolina , where he attended high school. Influenced by his mother's taste in music, he became enthusiastic about rap early on, and during his school days he began to write his own pieces and publish them via internet channels. At first he still took his first name Darak or the derived form "duh.rock", later he made the rapper name Stay Solid Rocky out of his nickname Rocky.

After a few releases, he got so much positive feedback on a short rap clip that he recorded a full version for SoundCloud under the title Party Girl and created a video for YouTube . He came into contact with Solomon Sobande, previously manager of XXXTentacion , among others , and through him got a contract with the major label Columbia . In spring 2020 he released two other songs on Columbia before Party Girl was released at the end of April . Thanks to a post on the TikTok platform , the video achieved great popularity. The song entered the US singles charts and achieved gold status. A little later, it also became an international hit and entered the charts in many European countries.
