Stef Peeters (born February 9, 1992 in Bree ) is a Belgian football player . He will be under contract with the Belgian first division partner KAS Eupen from the 2020/21 season .

Career

In his youth, Peeters played at KRC Genk near his home town.

Since November 2011 he was part of the first team's professional squad, but only played games in the range of minutes. It was not until the last game of the play-off championship round on May 13, 2012, when it was no longer about anything for KRC Genk, that Peeters stood for 86 minutes.

In the new 2012/13 season under the new coach Mario Been he was only in two games in the squad until the end of the year, but was not actually used there either. Peeters was then loaned to the Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam for the remainder of the season and the next . During this time Rotterdam played in the Eerste Divisie , the second highest Dutch league.

In the 2014/15 season he was loaned out again by Genk, this time to MVV Maastricht . At the end of the season, Maastricht made use of the agreed purchase option, so that Peeters finally moved to Maastricht. Maastricht also played in the Eersten Divisie during this period .

In the summer of 2016, Peeters moved back to Belgium and signed a three-year contract with first division VV St. Truiden .

After only one year he moved to the French club SM Caen . A contract term of three years was agreed. Caen played in Ligue 1 , the top French league , at this time . After Peeters had not been on the field since October 20, 2018, and later no longer in the squad, he was loaned to the Belgian first division leader Zulte Waregem for the rest of the season at the beginning of 2019 .

After this loan had expired, Peeters had already returned to Caen before moving to Cercle Bruges . Peeters signed a four-year contract with the option to extend it for another year. For the 2020/21 season he moved within the league to KAS Eupen .
