Life

After graduating from high school , Diekwisch studied economics . In 1974 he was at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg with the work , the time moment in the counter-cyclical fiscal policy of the Federal Republic doctorate .

Diekwisch joined the FDP and served from 1986 to 1988 as State Secretary in the Ministry of Federal Affairs and from 9 November 1988 to 21 June 1990 as State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior of Lower Saxony . In the early 1990s he advocated a social liberal policy. In 1991 he was elected as the successor to Heinrich Juergens as the state chairman of the FDP Lower Saxony and a short time later he was nominated as the top candidate of his party for the state elections in March 1994 . In the state elections, however, the Free Democrats only received 4.4% of the vote and could not jump the five percent hurdle . As a result, Diekwisch no longer made himself available as FDP state chairman and was replaced in this role by Walter Hirche .

Diekwisch was elected as a member of the federal executive committee at the federal party conference in 1992 . After being re-elected at the 1993 party congress , he did not stand as a candidate in 1995 and resigned from the board.

Today he is managing director of the management consultancy Diekwisch Consulting - Wirtschaft und Verwaltung GmbH in Isernhagen .
