Stefan Larsson (born January 21, 1983 in Storfors ) is a Swedish football player . The defensive player, who won the Swedish championship title with Kalmar FF in 2008, has played over 150 games in Swedish professional football in his career to date.

Career

Larsson started playing football at Storfors FF . In 1998 he moved to the youth department at Degerfors IF . He was later used in the men's team for the third division team at the time. As champions of Division 2 Västra Svealand , he moved in 2004 with the team in the promotion games against Umeå FC . With a 1-0 away win and a 2-2 draw in the second leg, they were promoted to the Superettan . Larsson was one of the regulars there and only missed one game in the following two seasons.

In November 2006, Larsson signed a contract with Kalmar FF . On the first day of the 2007 season he made his debut in the Allsvenskan when KFF celebrated a 1-0 away win at AIK with a goal from César Santin . In the course of the season he was used in all 26 games of the season, but played only half of the games over the entire duration of 90 minutes. In the cup final against IFK Göteborg on September 27, he had to watch his team's 3-0 win from the bench.

Shortly after the beginning of the following season, Larsson complained of persistent stomach ache. The cause turned out to be inflammation of the appendix , so that he had to be operated. Recovered in the meantime, he played a total of 18 league games by the end of the season and was thus involved in winning the championship on the side of Arthur Sorin , Henrik Rydström , César Santín and Patrik Ingelsten . In the following two seasons he established himself as an undisputed regular player and was in the starting line-up in all 30 games of the season. After a few players leaving after the championship title, the club only placed in the middle of the table. After the end of the 2011 season , which the club had finished eighth in the table, his contract with Kalmar FF expired.

Larsson's move to league rivals IF Elfsborg from January 2012 onwards was already known in September 2011 . He signed a four-year contract with the club from Borås until the end of 2015.
