Stefan Lottermann (born March 5, 1959 in Weilburg ) is a former German professional footballer . He is a lecturer at the German Sport University in Cologne and Vice President of Eintracht Wetzlar .

Professional career

In his youth, Stefan Lottermann played for FV Weilburg , TSG Biskirchen and FC Burgsolms . After successfully passing his Abitur in Weilburg, he began his professional career in the summer of 1977 with the second division Kickers Offenbach .

After two years in Offenbach, he moved to the higher-class neighboring club Eintracht Frankfurt , where he was an attacking midfielder in the regular team for three years. Here he celebrated his greatest successes by winning the 1980 UEFA Cup and 1981 DFB Cup . After his fourth season in Frankfurt, he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg in 1983 , which was relegated from the 1. Bundesliga at the end of that season. At the end of October 1984, after a player rebellion against coach Heinz Höher, he and five other players - Udo Horsmann , Rudi Kargus , Horst Weyerich , Detlef Krella and Manfred Walz  - were dismissed without notice because of “indiscretion and refusal to work”.

In the summer of 1985 he joined the second division club SV Darmstadt 98 , where he was again under contract for two years. He then ended his active career with two seasons at FC Burgsolms.

Since his time at Kickers Offenbach, he has been studying education, sociology and sport at the University of Frankfurt. He graduated in 1983 with a master's degree. In 1989 the doctorate on "Training in Football" followed.

After the football career

After his professional career, Lottermann was the full-time managing director of the Association of Contract Footballers from 1987 to 1994 . Since November 1992 he has also held the office of President in a double function. In 1988 he successfully completed the soccer teacher training course at the Sports University in Cologne. In 1989 he took over the coaching position at Wormatia Worms for a short time .

Since 2002 he has been working part-time in the team of lecturers at the Hennes-Weisweiler Academy at the Cologne Sports University. Between 1994 and 2012 he worked as a management consultant and trainer instructor. Stefan Lottermann lived in Weilmünster . In 2012 he started working as a technical advisor to the Chinese Football Association . He lives in Beijing .
