Stefan Schmidt (born March 8, 1989 in Flöha ) is a German football goalkeeper . He plays for VfB Auerbach .

Career

Schmidt came to Chemnitzer FC from TSV Flöha in 1999 . He played in the youth teams until 2008. On the last day of the 2008/09 season he played his first game for the first team that was then playing in the Regionalliga Nord . In the further course of his career Schmidt played for both the first and the second Chemnitz team. In 2010/11 Chemnitzer FC made it to the third division . In the promotion season Schmidt was substitute goalkeeper behind Philipp Pentke , but still played 13 games.

For the 2013/14 season Schmidt moved to FC Carl Zeiss Jena , where he was designated as number 2 in goal behind Tino Berbig . In the 2015/16 season he played for VfB Empor Glauchau and from July 1, 2016 he is number 1 in goal for the Vogtland regional league team VfB Auerbach .
