Stefan Schwarz (born August 31, 1959 in Bonn ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the 12th German Bundestag . He was - at that time, state chairman of the JU Rhineland-Palatinate - drafted through the state list of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Schwarz made a name for himself throughout Germany as a critic of the Serbian war crimes during the Bosnian War . He is an honorary citizen of the city of Sarajevo . Even before his mandate in the Bundestag, before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Schwarz was particularly involved in contacts with GDR civil rights activists , so u. a. to the Berlin pastor Rainer Eppelmann , who later became chairman of the Democratic Awakening . His ongoing political commitment to civil and human rights resulted in a. also reflected in its connection to Rupert Neudeck (Cap Anamur Foundation) and the Society for Threatened Peoples .

In 1994, Schwarz failed when he was nominated as a candidate in his constituency and, after some internal party controversies, did not get a promising place on the state list.

After his time in the Bundestag, he worked as a lobbyist and from 2008 to 2016 as a research assistant in the German Bundestag.

Stefan Schwarz is the son of the politician Heinz Schwarz and the brother of the publicist Thomas Schwarz .
