Stefan Sergejewitsch Stepanow ( Russian Стефан Сергеевич Степанов ; born September 23, 1992 in Yekaterinburg ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Atlant Mytishchi in the Continental Hockey League since July 2013 and for their farm team , HK Buran Voronezh , in the Vysschaya Hockey League plays.

Career

Stefan Stepanow began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the PHK Krylja Sowetow Moscow , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, in the 2008/09 season . He remained pointless in eight games and received ten penalty minutes. The following season the defender joined the Sudbury Wolves , for which he prepared a goal in seven games in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . For the 2010/11 season he returned to Russia, where he received a contract with HK CSKA Moscow from the Continental Hockey League . In his debut season in the KHL, he prepared two goals in seven games. Mainly, however, he was in the multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga (MHL) for the junior team Krasnaja Armija Moscow to use. With the team he won the Kharlamov Cup , the championship title of the MHL, at the end of the season .

For the 2011/12 season Stepanov was committed by the KHL participant Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg and completed 44 KHL games for this until February 2013. At the same time he was used at Avto Yekaterinburg in the MHL and at Burewestnik Yekaterinburg in the Pervaya League . In February 2013, Stepanow received an AHL contract from the Albany Devils , for which, however, he only completed a single game.

International

For Russia , Stepanov took part in the 2010 U18 World Junior Championship .
