Stefan Weber (philologist)

Stefan Weber (born February 24, 1976 in Heidelberg ) is a German Middle Latin philologist .

Life

Weber studied Latin philology of the Middle Ages and modern times as well as history and historical auxiliary sciences at the universities of Heidelberg , Zurich and Erlangen . In 2006 he received his doctorate in Erlangen with Michele Camillo Ferrari with a thesis on Marianus Scottus and the history of the Schottenklöster . Since 2009 he has been Academic Councilor at the Chair for Medieval and Modern Latin Philology at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg , and since 2015 Academic Senior Councilor. In addition to Middle Latin and Neo-Latin, his fields of work also include palaeography and numismatics .
