Stefan Wurster (born January 16, 1980 ) is a German political scientist and university professor . He is Professor of Policy Analysis at the Munich School of Politics at the Technical University of Munich and a member of the TUM School of Governance .

Live and act

After studying political science, Middle and Modern History and the Public Law at the Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg Wurster in Heidelberg from 2005 to 2010 when was Manfred G. Schmidt on the "Future provision in Germany" PhD . From 2009 to 2015 he was a research associate at the Institute for Political Science in Heidelberg , where he coordinated the doctoral program Political Performance of Autocratic and Democratic Regimes from 2012 to 2015 .

In 2010 he started his habilitation project on the topic of “Future viability and regime type” (with an interim evaluation in 2013). In 2015 he was appointed to a junior professorship for political science (focus on policy studies) at the University of Trier . Wurster has been Assistant Professor for Policy Analysis at the Munich School of Politics since 2016 .

He has also been a member of the TUM School of Governance since 2017 . From 2013 to 2016 he was responsible for the interdisciplinary research project “Results of the Local Agenda 21 Process” in Heidelberg and the follow-up project “Determinants of Local Agenda 21 Processes on Issues of Sustainable Policy Making at the Local Level”.

He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, a monograph and several books and special issues as editor. He has published in magazines such as Contemporary Politics, Energy Policy , Global Policy, Sustainability, Swiss Political Science Review, Journal for Comparative Political Science , The Modern State , Zeitschrift für Politik , Politische Vierteljahresschrift .

In the media, Wurster spoke about the development of the German and Bavarian party system, among other things .

Research priorities

Wurster's research focuses on policy field analyzes in policy fields with a sustainability reference, comparisons between democracy and autocracy , the development of party systems and management structures in energy , innovation, research and environmental policy .
