Stefanie Bock is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

From 1998 to 2004 she studied law at the University of Hamburg . After her first state examination in 2004, she worked from 2005 to 2008 as a research assistant at the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg, Chair of Peter Mankowski .

Scientific career

After completing her doctorate (2005–2009) “The Victim before the International Criminal Court” (Supervisor: Rainer Keller ), she was a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court of Braunschweig from 2008 to 2010 .

After the second state examination in 2010, she worked from 2010 to 2011 as a research assistant and post-doctoral candidate at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . From 2011 to 2016 she was a temporary academic advisor and post-doctoral candidate in Göttingen, and after being awarded the Venia Legendi for criminal law, criminal procedure law, international and European criminal law and commercial criminal law in 2016, she was a professor at the Philipps University of Marburg from October 2016 . In 2017 she turned down the offer at the University of Münster . Since August 2010 she has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Goettingen Journal of International Law . Since November 2015 she has been Associate Editor of the Criminal Law Forum. Since November 2016 she has been teaching as a university professor for criminal law, criminal procedure law, international criminal law and comparative law in Marburg . Since March 2018 she has been director of the International Research and Documentation Center for War Crimes Trials, Philipps University of Marburg, and since January 2018 she has been deputy chairwoman of the Criminal Law Commission of the German Association of Women Lawyers .

Her main research interests are international criminal law, European criminal law and victims' rights.
