Stefanie Otte

Stefanie Otte (born October 4, 1967 in Uelzen ) is a German lawyer. She has been President of the Higher Regional Court of Celle since July 23, 2018. Before that she was State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice .

Life and accomplishments

Stefanie Otte studied law at the University of Osnabrück from 1991 to 1995. In 1996 she passed the first state examination in law and then completed her preparatory service in the district of the Braunschweig Higher Regional Court . In 1999 she passed the second state examination in law. Stefanie Otte had previously studied from 1987 to 1990 at the Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Hildesheim , which she graduated in 1990 as a legal clerk.

Otte worked as a probationary judge from 1999 and then as a judge at the district court of Celle from 2003 . In 2007 she was seconded to the local higher regional court and became deputy head of the central office for official texts and forms (now Text Management Justice Lower Saxony). From 2009 to 2013 she worked as a judge at the Celle Higher Regional Court and as head of the organizational department there.

In 2013 Otte joined the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice and became head of the personnel department. After her appointment as Chief Ministerial Counselor in 2014, she took over as deputy head of the central department (budget, personnel and organization) in the Ministry of Justice. On June 1, 2015, she was appointed State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice by Prime Minister Stephan Weil . She held this post until the new Weil II cabinet was formed on November 22, 2017. Her successor was Stefan von der Beck .

Otte has been President of the Higher Regional Court of Celle since July 23, 2018 , after two lawyers from Lower Saxony, including Ralph Guise-Rübe , had failed with competitor lawsuits. Otte succeeded Peter Götz von Olenhusen .

Stefanie Otte is married and has three children.
