Stefanie Reese
Stefanie Reese (born June 15, 1965 in Hameln ) is a German civil engineer and university lecturer.
Life
Stefanie Reese studied civil engineering at the Hamelin Viktoria-Luise-Gymnasium in Hanover . After graduating with distinction in 1990, she became a research assistant at the Institute for Mechanics at the Technical University of Darmstadt . In 1994 she did her doctorate with distinction under Peter Wriggers with the topic: Theory and numerics of the stability behavior of hyperelastic solids . In 2002 she completed her habilitation in the field of mechanics with the topic: Thermomechanical modeling of rubber-like polymer structures .
From 2000 to 2005 she was a professor at the Ruhr University Bochum , Faculty of Civil Engineering, AG Numerical Mechanics and Simulation Technology. Afterwards she was professor at the Technical University Carolo-Wilhelmina in Braunschweig , Faculty for Mechanical Engineering, Institute for Solid Mechanics. She has been Professor of Applied Mechanics at RWTH Aachen University since 2009 . In 2009 she received a call from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and in 2015 from the University of Birmingham (UK) to the Manufacturing Center of Technology / Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Modeling and Simulation of Complex Systems, both of which she rejected.
