Steffen Fischer (born March 6, 1990 in Groß-Gerau ) is a former German handball player and today's coach .

Career

In 2007 Fischer came to the handball academy of VfL Gummersbach , where, in addition to the youth national team of 1990, he also gained various experiences in the men's field in the first men's team under Sead Hasanefendić . In 2009 Fischer obtained his Abitur at the Grotenbach Gymnasium and moved to the Dessau-Roßlauer HV in the 2nd handball league . Regular working times and successes led to an invitation to the junior national team by the junior national coach Martin Heuberger . Shortly afterwards, Fischer's sporting career was interrupted for a year in 2010 by a knee injury, then a shoulder dislocation of his left throwing shoulder and the sudden death of his father Peter Fischer . In 2011, Fischer moved to the second division of the 2010/11 season for the second division TV Korschenbroich . After the club had not applied for a license to play, Fischer signed with the Bundesliga club HG Saarlouis under Goran Suton and at the end of the 2011/12 season could look back on the most successful season in the club's history. The HSG Tarp-Wanderup , promoted from the 3rd Bundesliga North Season, signed Fischer as a new entry for the 2012/13 season, which he had to end prematurely due to a fractured inner ankle and the insolvency of the club.

During his rehabilitation, Fischer completed his C and B trainer license training and took over the promoted and third division club HG 85 Koethen in the 2013/14 season . In the 2014/15 season, Tus Radis signed Fischer as a player-coach and was able to celebrate the most successful season in the club's history. Two years followed exclusively as a player at USV Halle and Handball Hannover-Burgwedel until Fischer moved to the coaching bench at Stralsund HV after completing his A coaching license . In his first year as a coach he won the championship in the Oberliga-Ostsee-Spree , he failed with the team in the relegation. In the following season 2019/2020, the team he supervised, which was in first place when the season was broken off due to the COVID-19 pandemic , was awarded the championship and the Stralsund HV rose to the 3rd division . Fischer's team won all league games in front of a home crowd during its time at the Stralsund AGM (as of May 15, 2020).
