Martin Heuberger (born June 5, 1964 in Schutterwald ) is a former German handball player and former national coach of the German national handball team. For TuS Schutterwald , he initially played as a player. He was later hired as a player-coach and coach.

The 1.93 m tall Heuberger made his international debut in the DHB jersey on January 17, 1989 in Osterode against the Soviet Union . He played 26 international matches and scored 33 goals. Since February 1, 2002, Heuberger has been the responsible junior trainer for the German Handball Federation. On November 1, 2004, he became Heiner Brand's assistant and assistant coach of the German men's national team . With this he was able to celebrate the world championship in 2007 . On July 1, 2011 he succeeded Heiner Brand as the national coach of the German national handball team. At the 2013 World Cup , he reached 5th place. After missing the qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games , the 2014 European Championship and the 2015 World Championship , his contract, which expired on June 30, 2014, was not renewed. In April 2017 he took over the A-youth of TuS Schutterwald. Since December 2018 he has been back at the DHB as a trainer for the junior national team.

Heuberger is a graduate in administration by profession .
