Steffen Kiese (born September 28, 1987 in Oldenburg ) is a German basketball player .

Player career

Kiese played in the youth of the Oldenburg TB and from 2005 in the men's team of Lower Saxony in the first Regionalliga Nord. In 2009 he moved to SC Rist Wedel , who had just been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB at the time . In 2011 he moved from Wedel to VfL Stade in the first regional league. He was named Sportsman of the Year 2012 in the city of Stade . In 2013 he won the championship title with VfL in the northern relay of the first regional league and was named the best German player in the league this season by the internet service eurobasket.com . After promotion he played with Stade in 2013/14 in the ProB, but the relegation was missed.

In 2014, Kiese moved to the newly founded Hamburg Towers and was one of the first squad in the club's history in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . He became a crowd favorite with Hamburg, but after the 2015/16 season he decided against continuing his career in the ProA for professional reasons. He returned to Rist Wedel (ProB) for the 2016/17 season. After the end of the 2017/18 season, he ended his professional basketball career and moved to TSG Bergedorf  in the regional league.
