Steffen Stiebler (born April 26, 1971 in Merseburg ) is a former German handball player . He played in the handball Bundesliga at SC Magdeburg mainly in defense and occasionally in the left backcourt .

Stiebler has played a total of 18 international matches for Germany . Four of them in 1992 and 14 in 2001. He scored ten goals. At the 2001 World Handball Championship in France , he played nine games in which he threw five goals. With the national team he reached 8th place.

In June 2007 Stiebler ended his career at SCM, to which he had been loyal since 1989, and became the team's sporting director, but on December 12, 2007 he announced his comeback . The reason for this was the poor placement of the SCM and the early termination of the contract by Karol Bielecki and Grzegorz Tkaczyk . From February 2010 Stiebler was interim managing director of HMD GmbH Magdeburg. On December 29, 2010, Stiebler was inducted into the Hall of Fame of SC Magdeburg . In January 2014 he took over the position of sporting director at SCM.

The trained office clerk is married.
