The Steinhübel (formerly also Hindenburghöhe ) is 816.9  m above sea level. NHN high elevation north of Rübenau in the Saxon Ore Mountains . The rugged rock section is at the same time the highest elevation in the Rübenau war forest and the highest mountain in the area of ​​the city of Olbernhau .

The view is partially restricted by the thick beech forest. Kühnhaide and the Hirtstein can be seen in the southwest . With good visibility you can see the 1215 meter high Fichtelberg and the 1244 meter high Keilberg . In the south, on the Czech side, the 842 meter high Lauschhübel rises . To the east, the Rübenau district of Kriegwald and the mountain school with the wind turbines can be seen.

About 1 kilometer west-southwest of the Steinhübel lies the historically significant Ullersdorf desert . The former settlement from the early 13th century is considered to be the highest relic of the settlement period in the Ore Mountains at an altitude of more than 700 meters.
