The S15-1 variant of the Stemme ASP is an EASA CS-23 certified motorized aircraft that can be used for remote sensing, research and monitoring. Manufactured in Strausberg by the German Stemme AG.

history

The Stemme ASP S15-1, which is a completely new development, was presented at the ILA 2000.

In October 2008, the development of the first optionally unmanned / manned aircraft began under the direction of Markus Wagner and Phillip Scheffel in cooperation with OHB Systems GmbH and Sagem from Bremen . In June 2009, the Stemme S15 Dual Mode flew without a crew for the first time. A Sagem Patroller version of the aircraft flew unmanned reconnaissance missions on behalf of the French Interior Ministry during the forest fires in Istres in 2010

In March 2012, the automatic landing system LAPAZ (“Air Work Platform for General Civil Aviation”) was tested in cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Stuttgart .

construction

The cantilevered shoulder wing aircraft with a three-part structure has flaps, Schempp-Hirth airbrakes on the top of the outer wings and winglets . Two load suspension points under the inner support surface can each be loaded with 80 kg. A conventional T-tail unit in FRP construction includes an elevator with a trim tab.

The crew is sitting next to each other in the forward fuselage in CFK / GFK -Verbundbauweise. A Rotax 914 F2 motor in the tubular steel framework construction behind it drives a three-bladed Mühlbauer MTV-7-A controllable pitch propeller with a 1.7 meter propeller diameter in the tip of the fuselage.

The tricycle landing gear can be retracted hydraulically.
