Stephan Grigat (born January 24, 1964 in Detmold ) is a German lawyer and notary. As a CDU member, he is involved in local politics. He is the spokesman for the East Prussian Landsmannschaft .

After graduating from the Leopoldinum in 1983, Grigat served as a temporary soldier in the army (Bundeswehr) from 1983 to 1986 . Through military exercises he reached the current rank of lieutenant colonel in the reserve. From 1986 to 1991 he studied law at Bielefeld University . Since 1995 he has been admitted to the bar at the Detmold District and Regional Court . He is a specialist lawyer for social law and has been a notary since 2014 . Grigat is married and has two sons. His family comes from East Prussia . Grigat is an active rider.

Political career

Since 1989 he has been a member of the Detmold City Council for the CDU. In 1999 he became a member of the district assembly in Lippe, and has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there since 2014. From 1999 to 2009 he was chairman of the CDU city association Detmold , from 2003 to 2010 he was also chairman of the CDU council group in Detmold. He is the deputy head of the district of Lippe .

Activities for East Prussia

Grigat is the spokesman for the Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen e. V. ( Hamburg ) and as district representative of the district community Goldap Ostpreußen ev ( Stade ). In his religiously charged keynote address at the annual meeting of the East Prussian Landsmannschaft in Neuss in June 2017, he criticized his party's migration policy and conjured up an image of the insecurity and lack of freedom that would prevail in the Federal Republic. Expressions of this are also gender -equitable language , non-heteronormative education classes or the second nuclear phase-out by the federal government in 2011.

He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Future for East Prussia Foundation . In the summer of 2010 he was appointed as a BdV representative to one of the representatives on the foundation board of the Escape, Expulsion, Reconciliation Foundation . Grigat has also been Vice President of the Federation of Expellees (BdV) since 2012 . District Administrator Axel Lehmann presented Grigat with the Medal of Merit in October 2016 for his decades of commitment to the people of East Prussia.
