Stephan Marasek (born January 4, 1970 in Mödling ) is a former Austrian football player.

Career

Stephan Marasek began his professional career in 1987 at VfB Mödling and soon grew into one of the top performers. The midfielder had his greatest time at SK Rapid Vienna , where he played between 1993 and 1996 and was also regularly called up for the national team. With the Hütteldorfer he won the Vienna Stadthallenturnier in 1995 (he was named the best defender of the tournament) and in May of the same year the ÖFB-Cup . In the following season, the team around him and Didi Kühbauer sensationally made it into the European Cup final of the cup winners and in June 1996 the club's 30th championship title was fixed.

In 1996/1997 the blond Viennese played in Breisgau at SC Freiburg , but was never able to prove his qualities there and so Dietmar Constantini brought him to FC Tirol Innsbruck in 1997 . Between 2000 and 2002 he was three times champion with the Tyroleans, but it was no longer enough for a call-up to the ÖFB team. After Innsbruck went bankrupt in 2002, Marasek played briefly at SV Austria Salzburg , but soon ended his career due to an injury. He then trained the offspring of SV Natters from 2002 to 2008. Since July 2008 he has been training the SV Oberperfuss fighting team .
