Stephan Schmidt (born November 15, 1973 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016.

Life

Schmidt grew up in Berlin-Hermsdorf and attended the Georg-Herwegh-Oberschule , where he graduated from high school in 1993. From 1994 to 1995 he did military service with the 4th / Panzerartilleriebataillon 425 of the Bundeswehr in Lehnitz . From 1995 he completed an apprenticeship as a real estate agent, which he completed in 1998 with the assistant examination. From 1998 to 2014 he took over the management of a medium-sized family business. He has been office manager in the German Bundestag since 2013 , currently (as of 2016) as a consultant in the finance committee .

Schmidt joined the Junge Union in Reinickendorf in 1990 and joined the CDU in 1991. He has been a member of the district board of the CDU Reinickendorf since 1998 and chairman of the CDU Heiligensee, Konradshöhe and Tegelort since 2013. Since February 22, 2019 he has been deputy district chairman of the CDU Reinickendorf.

Schmidt has been a member of the Reinickendorf District Assembly since 1995 . He was chairman of the economic committee from 1999 to 2006, chairman of the building committee from 2006 to 2011 and has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in BVV since 2011. In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , he was elected to the House of Representatives as a direct candidate for the CDU via constituency 123 (Reinickendorf 3) . He won the direct mandate with 33.5% of the first votes .

Stephan Schmidt is married and has three children.
