Stephane Assengue Ombiogno (born May 23, 1990 in Douala ) is a Cameroonian football player on the position of a striker . His last notable station was in 2009 at New England Revolution in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top division of North American football. After his departure that year and the ensuing lack of association, his career took a turn for the worse.

Career

Assengue, who was born in Douala, the largest city in Cameroon, began his active football career in his homeland. Among other things, he was used in the youngsters of the local club Daga Young Stars and was then also used in the club’s men's team. After many years of membership in the club, Assengue was discovered on a scouting tour through Ghana by Steve Nicol, head coach of the MLS franchise New England Revolution, and others in charge of the club. The native Cameroonian was particularly noticeable for his speed. It was on this tour that people became aware of the Ghanaian international Emmanuel Osei , who was brought into the team with Assengue and, in contrast to the Cameroonian, was also able to assert himself in the team. After obtaining a P1 visa and entering the United States , Assengue signed his first professional contract with the Revs on March 26, 2009. He finally made his debut on May 3, 2009 in a 2-0 home loss to Houston Dynamo , when he came on the lawn in the 65th minute of play for Kheli Dube . Exactly on his 19th birthday, Assengue completed his second championship appearance for the Revs on May 23, 2009. He was substituted on in the 1: 3 away defeat against Toronto FC in the 79th minute of the game for Pat Phelan , who was previously involved with Toronto FC. After that, he was often on the bench of the Revs, but brought it to no further league use. He played his last competitive game on June 30, 2009 in the third round game of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup 2009 against the Harrisburg City Islanders , when he was used over the entire 120 minutes of play and was eliminated with the team just 1: 2 from the current competition. After just one season in the top North American soccer league, Assengue was fired from the MLS franchise in November 2009. However, very little is known about his later career. After living in Canada for a few years and playing for AS Blainville in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec in 2013 , he joined the Canadian soccer team Kingston FC in 2014 and played in the Canadian Soccer League . At the club from Kingston , Ontario , he was active from 2014 to 2015 and moved for the 2016 game year to CS Mont-Royal Outremont , another semi-professional club from Mont-Royal and Outremont that played in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec.
