Stephen J. Friedman
Stephen J. Friedman (born March 15, 1937 in New York City , † October 4, 1996 in Brentwood , California ) was an American film producer.
Life
Friedman studied at the Wharton School and Harvard University . He initially worked as an attorney for the Federal Trade Commission , Columbia Pictures and Paramount Pictures . He later acquired the rights to a novel by Larry McMurtry and produced his first film, The Last Show , in 1971 . In the 1980s he founded his own production company, Kings Road Production.
For the film Aus Liebe zu Molly by Sidney Lumet Friedman wrote the script for the first time and once.
At the Academy Awards in 1972 he was nominated for The Last Screening in the Best Picture category. At the Independent Spirit Awards in 1988 he received a nomination also in the category of best film for the film The Big Easy .
