Spironemidae is a family of organisms in the order Hemimastigida in the group of Hemimastigophora . The family was first described by Franz Theodor Doflein in 1916 .

features

Spironemidae are small to medium-sized, multiple flagellated organisms about 10 to 60 micrometers in length. They are vermiform (worm-shaped) to egg-shaped (ovoid), more or less clearly flattened and at the front with a more or less clear constriction which gives this section a head-like appearance (capitulum). The individual cell nucleus contains a distinct central nuclear body ( nucleolus ) that is retained during division. The flagella (flagella) run in two rows along the cell.
