Stevan Doronjski

Stevan Doronjski ( Serbian - Cyrillic Стеван Дороњски ; born September 26, 1919 in Krčedin , † August 14, 1981 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav politician of the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia (BdKJ) .

biography

Doronjski worked from May 1951 to 1966 in the Autonomous Region of Vojvodina as secretary of the Central Committee of the BdKJ and thus as party leader of the region. At the same time he was between March and December 1953 Chairman of the Executive Council (Prime Minister) of Vojvodina, before he was President of the People's Assembly from December 1953 to July 1963. In addition, Doronjski was acting chairman of the Executive Council for eleven days in November 1964 and thus Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Serbia .

In 1970 Doronjski represented Vojvodina as a member of the Presidium of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . He was a member of the State Council of Yugoslavia. After Tito's death, the State Council of Yugoslavia alternated the President every year.

On October 23, 1979, he became chairman of the presidium of the BdKJ, representing the sick Tito, and thus acting party leader. After Tito's death on May 4, 1980, Doronjski held this office until October 20, 1980, when he was replaced by Lazar Mojsov .

After Dorojnski's death in 1981, Radovan Vlajković followed him as a representative of Vojvodina in the Presidium of the SFRY.
