Steve Fisher (born August 29, 1912 in Marine City , Michigan as Stephen Gould Fisher , † March 27, 1980 in Canoga Park , California ) was an American screenwriter who was once nominated for an Oscar for best original story.

Life

Fisher began his career as a screenwriter in the Hollywood film industry in 1938 on the drama The Nurse from Brooklyn by S. Sylvan Simon with Sally Eilers , Paul Kelly and Larry J. Blake . He wrote the scripts and templates for 95 films and television series . His story Short Leave was filmed as Navy Secrets in 1939 . His novel I Wake Up Screaming was filmed twice: on the one hand in 1941 as I Wake Up Screaming , on the other hand in 1953 as Vicki .

At the Oscar ceremony in 1944 Fisher was for the Oscar for best original story nominated, namely for on his novels and Delmer Daves staged war movie Destination Tokyo (Destination Tokyo, 1943) with Cary Grant , John Ridgely and Alan Hale Sr. in the Leading roles.
