Steve James (actor)

Steve James (born February 19, 1952 in New York , † December 18, 1993 in Burbank , California ) was an American actor .

biography

James was born in New York City. His uncle James Wall was also an actor, as was his godfather Joe Seneca . Inspired by this, Steve James attended CW Post Campus University on Long Island, where he studied film and art.

After that he played theater and shot for TV commercials. He also went to martial arts. Steve James began his film career as a stunt performer in films such as The Wiz , The Warriors , and The Wanderers . He mostly appeared in action films. In 1985 he took on a leading role in American Fighter . This was followed by other productions for the production company Cannon Films , some again at the side of Michael Dudikoff .

Steve James died of a pancreatic tumor in Burbank, California at the age of 41. His last role was in the pilot for the TV series MANTIS. He left a wife and child together. A role in Mortal Kombat never came about.
