action

The film continues the adventures of the first installment, which the two insurance employees, Larry Wilson and Richard Parker, went on when they faked the illusion that their late boss, Bernie Lomax, was still alive.

Having returned to New York from their eventful weekend, they now properly deliver their dead boss to a morgue. There they should answer a few questions, fill out forms and sign them. As alleged relatives, they are then given the deceased's personal belongings.

Back at the company, Larry and Richard are hoping for praise from the director, but the director announces that they are resigning because he believes they were involved in Bernie's fraud. He expects an employee to find the missing money within two weeks. The people in the Syndicate are trying to do that too . Since only Bernie knows where the money is hidden, they seek advice from a voodoo master in the Virgin Islands , who should bring Bernie back to life. Since the distance is too great, she instructs her two helpers Charles and Henry to travel to New York and perform the spell as instructed. Larry and Richard are now sitting there together and are planning a trip to the Virgin Islands, because Larry found a key to a safe deposit box on the island in Bernie's estate.

To perform the spell, Charles and Henry steal Bernie's body from the refrigerator and wake him up according to the voodoo instructions. However, they get away with the chicken, which they actually have to slaughter, and inevitably sacrifice a pigeon that they catch on the street. After they have performed all the rituals, the magic seems to work: As soon as Bernie listens to music, he begins to walk in a dancing step towards the hiding place of the money. When the music fades, Bernie falls stiffly to the ground again. While trying to follow Bernie, their boom box is stolen and the lifeless Bernie is discovered by the police and taken back to the New York morgue.

Larry and Richard discovered that only Bernie had personal access to the locker. This gives them the idea to take Bernie with them and use him in the tried and tested way for their purposes. With a large suitcase they go to the morgue to secretly “borrow” Bernie and travel to the Virgin Islands without stopping. Arriving at her apartment on the island, Larry immediately clears out the refrigerator so that he can stow Bernie there. Then both want to have fun with the many pretty girls at the pool. In the evening, however, dance music plays and Bernie inevitably wakes up and goes on his way to his money. Richard and Larry are so busy with themselves and the pretty women that they only notice Bernie's disappearance, which they cannot explain, until the next morning. You can bring him back and place him in the car to take him to the bank. They are discovered by Charles and Henry, who are back on the island and kidnap Bernie without further ado. Larry and Richard can successfully get Bernie back and enter the bank with him. They actually manage to get to the locker, but they only find a card with voodoo symbols in it. A little disappointed they try to find someone who can explain the meaning to them. They forget about Bernie in the car, who soon goes into business again when he listens to music in a passing car. While looking for him, the two friends meet Richard and Larry and now learn the story of the voodoo magic. Without further ado, they put Bernie headphones on so that he can listen to music continuously, and so he leads his “pursuers” straight to a treasure chest that actually contains the two million dollars they are looking for.
