Troy Beyer

Troy Yvette Beyer , sometimes also Troy Byer (born November 7, 1964 in New York City ) is an American actress , director and screenwriter .

Life

Beyer, the daughter of an African American and a Jew , made her debut as an actress in three episodes of the 1985 television series Under the California Sun. In 1986 and 1987, she appeared in the television series The Denver Clan . In the comedy Das Chaoten-Team (1987) she played one of the bigger roles. She played a bigger role at the side of Halle Berry in the comedy Beverly Hills Beauties (1997), for which she wrote the screenplay.

Beyer made her debut as a director with the independent drama Let's Talk About Sex (1998), for which she also wrote the screenplay and in which she took on one of the bigger roles. As the director of the comedy Love Don't Cost a Thing (2003) she was nominated for the BET Comedy Award in 2004.

Beyer was married to the film producer Mark Burg .
