action

Jasmine Hampton, Michelle and Lena live together in an apartment in Miami . Hampton works for a newspaper and dreams of hosting a television show. During a job interview, she overhears that she should submit a sample of the program she is planning to show, Girl Talk .

The women invite their mothers to Mother's Day . Michelle's mother, who remarried and has children from the second marriage, does not appear. She is later visited by Michelle.

Hampton interviews numerous women about their sex lives over a weekend and cuts the interviews together. Some of the women are lesbian, one of them talks about lesbian oral practices. One woman is strongly dominant - her statement upsets the Michelle present.

Michelle's sister arrives and shares her argument with her partner Drew after she videotaped an affair. A little later, Drew arrives and makes up with the woman. The finished tape of interviews is mistakenly burned instead of the one with lesbian sex. The grieving Hampton is comforted by her roommates. At the end of the film, Hampton's friend Michael makes her a marriage proposal, which she accepts.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that the script was so "terrible" that it was hard to believe that it had found a producer. The three stereotypical main characters are little developed. The camera settings and the cuts would be reminiscent of MTV . Beyer's range as an actress is limited.

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times of September 11, 1998 that the film looked like two different bad films that would compete for screen time ("plays like two bad films trying to elbow each other out of the frame"). The interviews would seem like harsh criticism on the Penthouse Forum and would show the world of men in a bad light.

backgrounds

The film was shot in Miami . Its production amounted to an estimated 300 thousand. Dollars . The film grossed around 418 thousand US dollars in cinemas in the United States.
