Barry Knapp Bostwick (born February 24, 1946 in San Mateo , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Bostwick began his career in 1970 with a small role in a television movie. Since then he has been a very busy serial and film actor and has worked on more than 100 productions.

In 1975 he played the role of Brad Major , the fiancé of Janet Weiss ( Susan Sarandon ), on The Rocky Horror Picture Show . Scenes from the film were included in the Cold Case episode The Rocky Horror Show in 2005, as is typical of the series, and Bostwick practically had a double role in which he played a religiously fanatical opponent of the Rocky horror hype of the time.

From 1996 to 2002 he was the mayor of New York, Randall Winston in Spin City , in the beginning of Michael J. Fox and later, Heather Locklear and Charlie Sheen played the leading roles. In 2012 he was on stage as part of the SF Sketchfest in the theater production The Rocky Horror Picture Show: The Peaches Christ Experience .

In 1989, Bostwick was awarded a Golden Globe for his role in the series Firestorm and Ashes .
