Steven Emerson

Steven Emerson (born June 6, 1954 ) is an American author and journalist whose main topics are in the areas of foreign security , terrorism and Islamic extremism. He is the director of The Investigative Project , which collects information on Islamist groups. He became known for the publication of several books on the same subject.

Controversial statements

Terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon

On April 17, 2013 claiming Emerson in an interview with Sean Hannity (Fox News) that he by an employee of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement had been informed (ICE) about the fact that a Saudi behind the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon would be stuck . These statements led to ridicule on social networks - around 80% non-Muslims live in Birmingham. The incumbent Prime Minister of Great Britain in 2015, David Cameron , then described Emerson as a " complete idiot ".
