Stevie Schmiedel
Stevie Meriel Schmiedel (* 1971 ) is a German- British gender researcher , author and founder of the women's rights association Pinkstinks Germany .
Life
Stevie Schmiedel studied cultural studies with a focus on gender research and received her doctorate in 2003 . She taught as a lecturer at the University of Hamburg and the Evangelical University for Social Work & Diakonie in Hamburg ( Das Rauhe Haus ).
In 2012 Schmiedel founded the Pinkstinks Germany e. V., a protest and educational organization against sexism and homophobia . Until 2020 she was its first chairman of the board, editor-in-chief and press officer.
In August 2020 she gave up the chairmanship and management of Pinkstinks Germany, but remains the contact person for the press and free creative director at the association.
