German Top Equestrian Foundation
The Foundation for German Top Equestrian Sports promotes top performance in equestrian sports . It is based in Warendorf .
history
On March 22, 2013, the Foundation of German Top Equestrian Sports was founded. About 20 patrons have made the foundation capital available. The Stiftung Deutscher Spitzenpferdesport was set up as an independent, legal foundation under civil law and, as such, is active as a sponsor. During the founding assembly , the Düsseldorf industrialist Jürgen Thumann was elected as the foundation's first chairman of the board. Since 2017, Jochen Kienbaum has been the new first chairman of the Foundation of German Top Equestrian Sports .

The Foundation of German Top Equestrian Sports aims to help ensure that Germany continues to be perceived as a large and successful ( horse ) sports nation through sporting successes at international championships and the Olympic Games . Successful equestrians as well as highly talented horses and trainers in the disciplines para-equestrian , jumping , dressage , eventing , driving , vaulting , endurance riding and reining are supported . Promoting the next generation and introducing them to top-class sport plays a role. The foundation would like to support in the following areas:
- Recruiting and promoting young talent,
- Athlete support,
- Cooperation with scientific institutions,
- the training and further education of a professional coaching staff,
- feeding the teams to championships and Nations Cup events,
- Horse tie,
- the creation of suitable training conditions
- and also conveying values to improve the image of equestrian sport.
structure
The foundation consists of the Stifterforum, the board of directors, the board of trustees and the foundation council. The founder forum is formed from the founding donors, donors can join. As an independent control body, the Board of Trustees monitors the work of the Board of Directors and compliance with the founder's wishes. He also elects 3 representatives for the board. In addition, the respective president of the German Equestrian Association (FN), the FN financial curator and the representative of the elite sport department of the FN presidium belong to the board of the foundation. The Board of Trustees provides advice to the board of trustees, whose main task is to bring the foundation's ideas to the public. The most prominent member is Ursula von der Leyen , Federal Minister for Labor and Social Affairs and has been closely associated with the horse since childhood.
