Foundation Partner for School North Rhine-Westphalia
The Foundation Partner for School North Rhine-Westphalia was a foundation of the economy and the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia . It was founded on June 3, 2003 and dissolved on December 31, 2014. It was an operational foundation. The seat of the foundation was Düsseldorf .
Goals and Activities
The foundation carries out projects with different focal points to support school and teaching development. These include: promoting the transition from school to work, building partnerships between companies and schools, promoting basic skills and economic education, and supporting learning with new media. Since its inception, the Foundation Partners for Schools NRW has implemented over 35 projects with a volume of 50 million euros. (As of April 2012).
Schools can usually apply to participate in a project.
Together with the Unfallkasse NRW, the foundation is the publisher of “Forum Schule”, the magazine for teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia.

In addition to the board of directors, the committees include an advisory board with members from business, science and institutions as well as a foundation board with seven honorary members. Ludwig Hecke, State Secretary in the Ministry for Schools and Further Education of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, chairs the Board of Trustees .

The nine founding companies include Gelsenwasser AG , Apple Computer GmbH , Fujitsu Siemens Computers GmbH , Gmünder Ersatzkasse GEK , IBM Deutschland GmbH , Microsoft Deutschland GmbH , Sun Microsystems GmbH , Suse Linux AG and Texas Instruments Deutschland GmbH.
