Foundation Association Westphalia-Lippe

The Stiftungverbund Westfalen-Lippe was founded in 2006 as a project of the Stiftung Westfalen-Initiative and the Center for Nonprofit Management. It serves the approximately 1,100 foundations in Westphalia and Lippe as a networking instance and as a point of contact for questions relating to the foundation system. The foundation association is based in Münster .

One of the main objectives of the Westphalia-Lippe Foundation Association is to provide information for foundations in the Westphalia-Lippe area. In a foundation database created for this purpose, with more than 40,000 individual entries, the members of the association can find out about and research other foundations. The foundation association has set itself the goal of promoting cooperation between the foundations and promoting the exchange of experience between foundations.

Foundation days and workshops

The Westphalia-Lippe Foundation Day is organized once a year. As the organizer, the foundation association invites speakers on topics of the foundation system. The first foundation day took place in 2006 at Gut Havichshorst in Münster-Handorf and was at the same time the foundation day of the foundation association. The second foundation day was held in 2007 under the motto "Foundation cooperation: Strong together!" In the Bentlage monastery in Rheine . The third foundation day took place in Witten / Herdecke on October 17th, 2008 in the Werner Richard Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation on guerrilla marketing . In 2010 the Foundation Day was organized together with the OWL Foundations Competence Group in the LWL Open-Air Museum in Detmold . In October 2011, the Foundation Day took place under the motto Five Years of the Westphalia-Lippe Foundation Association in the Gottfried Könzgen Folk High School in Haltern am See . In 2012, the Foundation Day on September 21st in the Schwerte pipe works offered interesting lectures and workshops on topics relevant to the foundation. The Westphalia-Lippe Foundation Day 2013 took place in July on the premises of the Bertelsmann Foundation in Gütersloh . Telgte is planned as the venue for 2015 .

The Stiftungverbund Westfalen-Lippe is one of the initiators who founded the Münster Westfalen Foundation Day in 2009. In addition to the forum and the workshops, there was also a market for foundations. Personalities from the foundation sector such as Katja Ebstein and Christoph Metzelder (2014) came to the Münster Westfalen Foundation Days . The foundation association also regularly organizes workshops on the annual foundation days. In 2010 and 2011 workshops on foundation communication took place.
