Stig-Göran Myntti

Stig-Göran Mikael Myntti (born August 6, 1925 - February 28, 2020 ) was a Finnish football and bandy player .

Myntti played for the West Finnish club Vasa IFK with which he won the national championship in 1944, 1946 and 1953. In the Finnish national team , he made 61 appearances for the national team from 1945 to 1958 and scored 5 goals. Among other things, he was part of the squad of the Finnish Olympic team at the Olympic Games in Finland in 1952 . His first two international goals he scored on September 7, 1947 in Helsinki in an international match against Norway (3: 3). The other goals he scored against the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. In the Finnish first division season 1948 Myntti was top scorer with 15 goals.

In 1957 he was runner -up in the bandy with the Finnish national team at the first World Bandy Championship in Finland. In total, Myntti played 12 international matches in which he scored four goals.

He was the father of Kenth Myntti and grandfather of Henri Myntti , who were also football players.
