Stig Henrik Wennerström (born March 31, 1943 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish sailor .

Stig Wennerström, who sailed for the Göteborgs Kungliga Segelsällskap , took part in the Soling boat class at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich . He was the skipper of the Swedish boat, the crew of which consisted of Stefan Krook , Bo Knape and Lennart Roslund . They secured a victory in a total of seven races and came second twice, among other things, so that they finished the regatta taking place in the Schilksee Olympic Center in Kiel with 31.7 total points in second place, behind the Americans led by Harry Melges and in front of the boat from David Miller of Canada received the silver medal.

Already in 1970 Wennerström had become world champion in Soling with Krook in Poole and secured the bronze medal with him in 1973 in Quiberon . In 1970 he also took third place in the star boat . In 1975 Wennerström also became European champion in Soling, before another bronze medal at the World Championships in Soling followed in 1979. In the Starboot he won the European championship title in 1967 and 1970.
