Stoyan Stalev

Stojan Schiwkow Stalew (also written Stoyan Zhivkov Stalev , Bulgarian Стоян Живков Сталев ; born December 5, 1952 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian lawyer and diplomat . In 1997 Stalev was Bulgaria's foreign minister in the interim government of Stefan Sofijanski .

After graduating from Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia, Stoyan Stalev worked as a lawyer and lecturer at the Faculty of Law, where he taught maritime law . In 1990 he became an advisor to the first democratically elected President of Bulgaria, Schelju Schelew, and from 1991 ambassador to Germany . Between 1998 and 2005, Stalev was Bulgaria's ambassador to Turkey, and from 2006 he headed the state agency for foreign investments.
