Kristian Iwanow Wigenin (also spelled Kristian Ivanov Vigenin , Bulgarian Кристиан Иванов Вигенин ; born June 12, 1975 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian politician of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), member of the 6th and 7th European Parliament and Bulgarian Foreign Minister (2013 –2014) in the cabinet of Plamen Orescharski . In addition to German and English, he also speaks Russian and French.

Since 2007 he has been a member of the European Parliament for the group of the Party of European Socialists , elected from the list of the coalition for Bulgaria , which also includes the BSP. In the European elections in Bulgaria in 2009 he was confirmed as a member of parliament.

Between 2007 and 2009 he was Deputy Chairman of the Group of the Party of European Socialists in the European Parliament.

In the period from 2009 to 2012 Wigenin was chairman of the delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly .

He was a member of the Conference of Delegation Chairs , the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Delegation to the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation EU-Ukraine. As a deputy he was in the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and in the delegation in the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation EU-Russia.
